Demystifying SPS Coral Care by Reefer Matt Hello Reefers! I thought I’d share my thoughts and experience with SPS coral and how I care for them. In this article, I hope you’ll find something to take with you, and apply it to your tank. Reefer...
hi guys, first post here in R2R, bit excited must admit:) i'v recently came across few sps tanks with imperator angelfish, queen angel, blue face and few others (not all of them in all of the tanks i saw, more like a couple of types in each tank on avrage) and was wondering whats your...
Completely white means it’s either bleached or dead. If you don’t see any polyps then it’s dead. In my opinion your coral looks dead. If it’s not dead you want to move it to lower light. SPS corals turn white from bleaching which can be caused by too intense lighting or swinging parameters…usually alk.
SPS= Stability Promotes Success - the other part of my philosophy. Swinging parameters, high nutrients, poor lighting, lack of flow: All of these factor into the success of a tank that is trying to grow SPS. They can stunt growth, cause STN/RTN (slow tissue necrosis/rapid tissue necrosis), brown polyps, or just flat out kill them. Parameter checks:
Need some help im about to start putting some sps in my tank and recently purchased a pair of Radion xr30 pro for my 120 gal. I was wondering what everybody has there setting at? What type of growth your getting? What your personal review on the radions?
Hey I recently upgraded my lights to Radion Gen 3's from MH on my 150 gallon mixed reef. I was hoping someone who has had the lights long enough could tell me what is the best schedule (preset or custom) to get great colors out of sps.
What are the desired parameters and lighting schedule for SPS. I want to start growing acros but the few I had gotten are dead! Thank You! How old my tank should be too?
